Holland America offers comprehensive wedding services. In order to use their services, you must first make a booking through a Vacations To Go group specialist who will then act as your liaison to Holland America's wedding coordinator. Kings Knoll is a scenic thirty-minute drive north of Kona's port. You will be married amongst lush tropical foliage overlooking the sacred pond of King Kamehameha. A fringe of palm trees and the Pacific Ocean serve as the backdrop for your wedding at Kings Knoll.

First stop, Juneau Vital Statistics Office, to pick up your marriage license, then on to the Rainforest Glacier Gardens, through spectacular scenery of the Juneau area. Your wedding ceremony and champagne toast will take place in the beautiful natural Alaskan setting. In the event of inclement weather, your ceremony will take place in a glass greenhouse.

After your champagne toast and pictures you will return to your waiting transportation and be whisked back to your ship where chocolate dipped strawberries will be awaiting you in your cabin.
As this adventure ends another will begin - as husband and wife.

First stop, Juneau Vital Statistics Office to pick up your marriage license. From there it's a short twenty-minute drive to the heliport where you will meet your helicopter.

Then it's "Up, up and away" to an unforgettable adventure. Soar above the majestic Alaskan wilderness and experience the breathtaking view of the mountains below. Land on the surface of the closest place to heaven on earth!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Wedding Bookings

The bridal couple must be sailing on the cruise in order to hold a wedding onboard the ship

Wedding packages are available in Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, Juneau, Vancouver, Seattle, San Diego, Halifax, St. Thomas USVI, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Kona Hawaii, and Holland America's private Island of Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

Weddings are performed in Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, San Diego, Vancouver and Seattle on the day of sailing, prior to the ship departing. Ceremony times are between 12:30 & 1:30pm. Legal ceremonies are NOT performed at sea.

To guarantee availability, all weddings and ceremony extras must be booked and paid for as early as possible. No additions or changes are possible less than thirty (30) days prior to sailing date.

The bridal couple is responsible for obtaining a valid marriage license, from the place in which they are being married. A wedding consultant will assist the couple with the process by providing the necessary information for each specific port.

Holland America strongly recommends that the bridal party arrive at least one day prior to sailing to avoid late flights, lost luggage, traffic etc. on their wedding day. It is the bridal couple's responsibility to arrive at the wedding on time.

Several of the services Holland America contracts on your behalf, such as transportations, musicians, videographers and photographers are contracted on a time basis. If these times are exceeded, Holland America reserves the right to charge you for any excess billing. If you paid by credit card, Holland America will add this excess fee to the card and send you acknowledgement.

Wedding packages cannot be broken up.

A wedding consultant will work with you to create the perfect wedding to fit your needs. Once your Holland America cruise is booked, one of Holland America's consultants will reserve your special wedding day. Full payment is due for the wedding package at the time of booking, $400.00 of which is non-refundable. Wedding package may be paid for by Visa, MasterCard or American Express, Holland America also accepts travel agency check or International money order. If paying by agency check or International money order, it must be sent overnight in order for Holland America to confirm the booking. No checks will be accepted if the wedding is less than 45 days away. Holland America cannot confirm your wedding package and date until it has received the coordinator agreement and the cost of the wedding package.

Wedding extras must be booked as soon as possible due to limited availability of some services. All options must be paid for by thirty (30) days prior to sailing date.

Please be advised that in the event of strikes, lockouts, riots and weather conditions, mechanical difficulties or for any reason whatsoever, Holland America may at any time without prior notice cancel, advance, postpone or deviate from any scheduled sailing or port of call. Holland America shall not be liable for any loss whatsoever incurred by reason of such cancellation, advancement, postponement, or deviation. This includes the ship not being able to call in at any of the ports, especially Half Moon Cay due to weather. Please refer to Holland America's brochures and cruise ticket contract for additional terms and conditions regarding your vacation with Holland America.

You will receive a wedding itinerary shortly before your cruise, informing you of the time and location of the wedding ceremony.

Due to availability, Holland America reserves the right to substitute items of equal or greater value. All prices are in US dollars.

Cancellation Policy
For a full refund of your wedding and wedding enhancements, notice must be received in writing no later than sixty (60) days prior to sailing date. A full refund, less $400.00 US administration fee will be issued. (No refunds will be made for cancellations made less than sixty (60) days prior to sailing date.)

Wedding Locations
Ceremony times and locations are assigned according to the requirements of each wedding. Assignments are made solely at Holland America's discretion. The type of reception package purchased determines the length of time allowed for reception.

Wedding Guests
Holland America will allow up to 10 guests to attend the ceremony without having to book a reception. The basic reception fee for 10 guests is $200.00. If more than 10 guests are attending, please refer to the brochure for the different coordinating costs applicable to the amount of guests you have attending your wedding.

Please provide your wedding consultant with a complete guest list no later than thirty (30) days prior to sailing, no changes or additions are allowed after this date. For non-sailing guests Holland America needs: full legal names, citizenship, date of birth, and ID number (driver's license with state or passport number and country of issue), birth certificates are sufficient for children. For sailing guests, Holland America needs full names and cabin numbers.

All non-sailing guests must exchange their valid picture identification such as driver's license, and check in at the terminal security desk for a guest pass, which will enable them to board the ship.
For onboard weddings, guests will be authorized to board the ship between 11:30am and 12:30pm, provided the ship has been cleared by customs. All non-sailing guests must disembark the ship no later than 3:45pm.

Please let your non-sailing guests know not to go to the Lido Restaurant for food or beverages. This is for sailing passengers only. If non-sailing guests are found using the Lido restaurant they will be escorted off the ship and the bridal couple will incur the cost of approx. $20.00 for each person caught.

Priority Check-In
Priority check-in is provided only to the guests having a ceremony on the first day of sailing. On the day the ship sails, the bride and groom will be greeted by their Wedding Coordinator when they check-in with the Pier Supervisor. All sailing guests must have their paperwork completed in their ticket books before arriving at the terminal. Your Wedding Coordinator will escort the bridal couple to their stateroom. Bridal couples will be permitted to board as soon as Customs clears the ship, which is usually between 11:00am and 11:30am, so couples should arrive at the terminal no later than 10:30am to meet the Wedding Coordinator.

All sailing guests will receive special priority check-in and be escorted onboard shortly after the bridal couple. All guests should arrive at the pier between 11:00am and 11:30am unless told otherwise. Although Holland America is able to provide priority check-in for sailing guests, Holland America is unable to provide an escort from the pier to their stateroom.

Note: It is extremely important that the wedding party and any sailing guests hand-carry onboard all items to be used in the ceremony, such as tuxedo's, wedding dress, shoes, jewelry etc. Luggage checked with the baggage handlers will not arrive at your stateroom until after the ceremony.

The Ceremony
Holland America have designed special vows to commemorate your unique wedding experience. If you choose to use your own vows, please send them to us at least thirty (30) days prior to sailing. Ceremonies last approximately 20 – 30 minutes. Your wedding ceremony will be performed by the State or Provincially (Canada) approved Officiant. The bridal couple may also provide their own authorized Officiant.
